Fully Automatic Linen Laundry Equipment Configuration

The linen washing efficiency of hotels, hospitals, and laundry plants directly affects operating costs and service quality. Using a complete set of fully automatic equipment enables automated operation, saves labor, and reduces energy consumption. However, many newly built laundry rooms are unfamiliar with proper equipment matching. Therefore, this article introduces standard configurations, equipment selection, and auxiliary equipment by application scenario, providing a practical reference for procurement and laundry plant setup.

Configuration of Four Core Fully Automatic Laundry Machines

A complete automated production line consists of washer extractors, dryers, flatwork ironers, and folding machines:

1. Fully automatic industrial washer extractor (core washing equipment): Available in standard suspended models and medical barrier washer models. Small hotels can choose 20–30kg models, medium and large facilities can choose 50–70kg models, and large laundry plants can select 100kg models or water- and energy-saving tunnel washer systems. The machine is made of 304 stainless steel and comes with multiple built-in automatic washing programs.

2. Industrial linen dryer: The capacity should match the washer extractor. Steam-heated models offer lower operating costs; medical models are equipped with high-temperature disinfection programs. Fast drying helps reduce linen wrinkles. The stainless steel inner drum and forward/reverse rotation design help prevent tangling.

3. High-speed variable-frequency flatwork ironer: Designed for ironing and smoothing bed sheets and duvet covers. Single-roll models are suitable for small laundries, while double-roll or four-roll models are suitable for hotels and laundry plants. Large-diameter rollers deliver higher ironing efficiency. Variable-frequency speed control and imported bearings ensure stable operation.

4. Fully automatic linen folding machine: Connected to the flatwork ironer to automatically fold linen. Special models are available for bed sheets, towels, and pillowcases. High-speed models can reach a folding speed of up to 60m/min, greatly reducing manual labor.

Three Standard Configuration Solutions for Major Industries

1. Small and Medium-Sized Hotels (30–100 Guest Rooms)

30kg washer extractor + 30kg dryer + single-roll flatwork ironer + bed sheet folding machine; equipped with a steam generator, linen carts, and an automatic detergent dispenser. Only 1–2 operators are required.

2. Hospitals / Senior Care Centers

Barrier washer extractor + high-temperature disinfection dryer + widened double-roll flatwork ironer + multi-size folding machine; equipped with soiled linen collection carts and a disinfectant dosing system to meet medical laundry hygiene and infection-control requirements.

3. Medium-Sized Linen Laundry Plant (800–1500 Sets per Day)

100kg washer extractor + large-capacity dryer + four-roll high-speed flatwork ironer + four-lane folding machine; a tunnel washer system and a 4-station linen spreader feeder can also be added to achieve fully automated production-line operation.

Essential Auxiliary Equipment

Linen spreader feeder, automatic detergent dispenser, steam generator, linen transfer cart, vacuum ironing table, and wastewater pretreatment system help ensure continuous and stable operation of the production line.

Key Points to Avoid Common Procurement Mistakes

1. Match equipment capacities properly to avoid process bottlenecks caused by excessive capacity of a single machine;

2. Choose steam-heated equipment if a boiler is available; choose electric-heated models for stores without a heat source;

3. Medical institutions must purchase barrier washer extractors;

4. Prioritize complete equipment solutions from manufacturers for better compatibility and lower failure rates;

Newly built laundry rooms should select equipment based on washing volume, industry type, site conditions, and available heat sources. Small laundries should be equipped with the four basic core machines, hospitals should add barrier washing equipment, and large laundry plants should upgrade to fully automatic production lines. In the long run, complete automated equipment can save labor and energy while steadily improving linen washing quality.
